Conclusion - “We’ll save the planet only if we’re forced to” – My Opinion

With the development of the world and the increasing of industrial activities, the world is polluted day by day because of these activities. Johan said that we have take this problem seriously and stop the bad activities that pollute the earth. If we do not stop polluting the earth, our life will become worse and worse. The human will suffer a lot if this problem continues to increase and their life will be endangered. We do not have any options and we should choose the green option or we will have a worse life.

I agree with Johan because what he say is true. The earth is polluting day by day and we should try to find solution, so the people will have a better life. We must try to encourage people and convene them to choose the green option because it may solve the problem. The pollution is harming all the world and we should stop polluting it.
Cool Cities(SDCI)

With the development of the world and the increasing of human activities, the world is polluted day by day because of these activities. With industrial revolution, the CO2 is increasing the world. This increasing is harm the earth and make the creature endangered. The industrial revolution is increasing of industries and factories which produce chemical that pollute the earth.

Nowadays, people try to find a good solution to save the earth. One of the solution that is created by SDCJ is making a network of cool cities which will depend on the natural resources. This city will offer a comfortable space for walking, transportations terminal complex, monorail station, Light rail transit station, water transportation and hybrid car parking areas that make people live in a good environment.

To conclude, I think building a cool city is a good solution to reduce the pollution in the earth. This city will cost a lot to build it and it need a lot of times and materials. I hope this city will be build soon to save our earth.

Why I would like to live in Madar city

Masdar is a planned city in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates which will rely entirely on solar energy and other renewable energy sources, with a sustainable, zero-carbon, zero-waste ecology. That’s means that this city will be the first city without polluted air, food, and water.

All people would like to live in cities like Masdar because of the characteristic of this city. For me, I would like to live in this city because I think this city will provide for us pure air, water, and food which are free from pollution. When we have all this water, air, and food free from pollution we will have a better health. If people have the city which is not polluted, the diseases in the world will be decreased. The number of people who is suffering from cancer will be decreased if all cities like Masdar city. This city will ensure my children and my family life. The planets and animals will be growing in a good way.

To conclude, Masdar will be a model for what the cities should be in the future. Cities in the entire world should be like Masdar city to ensure people health and life in the future.

Cool Cities in the USA

1. Iowa: First municipal wind turbine.
2. Klamath Falls: geothermal heating system keeps the sidewalks clear and dry.

4. Houston Texas: By 2010 all vehicles will become hybrid.
5. Salt Lake City: save $ 32000 a year on its energy cost by installing 861 light emitting diode (LED) traffic signals.
6. Washington DC: replace 414 of its pollution diesel buses with cleaner burning, compressed natural gas buses.
7. Colombia Missouri: working to produce 10% of their electricity with clean energy like wind and solar power by 2015.
8. Twin falls Idaho- School increased their efficiency of energy which caused to reduce the cost by $3.2 million.
9. ST. Paul has built a biomass fired power plant for heating building.

One planet living

Zero carbon: The CO2 which is build up by human activities is changing the climate day by day.
Zero waste: the valuable resources are wasted by discarded products and packaging and this creates removal problems.
Sustainable transport: using transports like car and airplane is contributing to change the climate, pollute the air, disturbed people by annoying them, and congestion
· Local and sustainable materials: The smoke which comes from manufacture and industries increases environmental damage and reduces benefits to local community sustainable. Food
· Local and sustainable food: industrial agriculture produces food that is low quality, damage local ecosystems, and may have high transport impacts.
· Sustainable water: The local supplies of freshwater are often lack to meet human needs, due to pollution, disruption of hydrological cycles, and depletion
· Natural habitats and wildlife: the biodiversity is endangered because of the development in natural ares.
Culture and heritage: the local ideantity is being lost because of the globalization which result a lost of cultural heritage
Equity and fair trade: people in the developed coutries are living in low level of poverty while people in developing countries have high level of poverty.
· Health and happiness: question about health and well be increase because the rising of wealth and greater health and happiness.

My Carbon Footprint

My Carbon FootPrint

One way to measure your impact on the climate is a Carbon Footprint. It is measured by ponds of carbon dioxide emissions. When I did the test which tell you how much is my carbon footprint, my result was is 2.97 planets. In the next paragraph I will explain the bad hobbits I do and cause to increase the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the earth.

There are many bad things that I do and cause to pollute the earth. First, I eat a meat or fish more than one a day which makes the animals endangered which damage the nature cycle. Second, I drove my medium petrol car about five to six hours a day which cause to produce more Carbon Dioxide that pollute the earth. Third, I do not switch my room light when I’m leaving the room which consumes the electricity. These things are summary of my daily hobbits.

I realize that these hobbits are bad hobbits because which contribute in damage the earth and I have to do the following to save the earth. I have to eat less meat and fish and eat instead of it some vegetables which make me healthier. Also, I have to use bus or train instead of using my car and it will help to reduce the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the earth. Moreover, I have to save the electricity and switch the light in the rooms where no body stay in. these are some solution that can help me to contribute in saving the earth.

To conclude, footprint is one way to measure the impact of climate. People should make some steps that help and contribute in reducing the impact in the earth. After realizing my bad hobbits I put some solution that helps me to reduce the impact in the earth. I hope that I can contribute in saving the earth from damage.

What Abu Dhabi should do to make people aware of Global Warming

1. We have to teach them about this problem and show to them how it will affect the earth and affect them.
2. They have to know that the global warming is a serious problem that is increasing day by day.
3. We have to give them some lectures shows them how they can contribute in reducing this problem. We have to make some advertisement and programs that aware

Why the movie was called "An Inconvenient Truth"

Why the movie was called "An Inconvenient Truth"
An Inconvenient Truth called by this name because it discusses about the problem that people contributes in raising it. the human kind forget this problem and they care about the development that raise the Global Warming problem.

My reaction about An Inconvenient Truth

My reaction about An Inconvenient Truth
For An Inconvenient Truth film, it is really a good film because it is helping the public to understand what happened around them. I think this film is useful as well as interesting. After watching this movie, I know about the global warming problem and how it will affect the world if we do not contribute to solve this problem.

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth is an American film which talks about the problem of Global warming. This film is presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore. The film discusses about Al Gore and his travel’s which educate the audience about the severity of the climate crisis. An Inconvenient Truth contains the events which changed Al Gore’s point of view about the world. These events are sister's death from lung cancer, and his young son's near-fatal car accident. In the global warming field, Al Gore try to explain about this problem and what is the future of the world if we do not do anything to solve this problem. For example, Gore discusses the possibility of the collapse of a major ice sheet in Greenland or in West Antarctica because of the Global warming problem and this could raise global sea levels and causes flooding in some area. In the end of the film, Gore discusses how we can contribute with him to reduce this problem. He gives us some solution that make the world better and make the human bean live in a good environment.

Cool Cities

Cool Cities

In this course, we are doing Global Warming subjects that are related to the environment and how we can reduce the problem of the world. First we saw An Inconvenient Truth it is really a good film which talks about the problem of Global Warming in the world and encourages the people in contributing to solve this problem. Second we learn about Masdar which is the city which will be free city from the gases which cause the pollution. It will lead the world in understanding how all future cities will be built. We read some article of the programs which UAE will make. The United Arab Emirates is promoting initiatives to minimize the negative environmental footprint of urban development and reduce consumption of energy. Also, one of the programs is Cool City. The Cool City is using available green technology in transport, urban development and architecture with a low carbon footprint. We will learn about Carbon footprint and how to measure it. We will learn also one plant for living .The government has to make a law that forces the people to follow some steps which reduce the problems in the world. Finally, we use our critical thinking to argument about the causes and the solutions of these environment problems. Critical thinking is an important topic which makes people think and ask themselves questions about what and why and how is every thing happen in the world.

Critical Thinking

Social issues

Social issues- Lebanon
Lebanon is one of the best countries in the Arab world. It was named the “Land of milk and honey” in the bible. The capital of the Lebanon is Beirut which its nickname is “Paris of the East”. Lebanon has many famous singers more than any Arab countries and one of the famous singers is half Lebanese who is Shakira. Lebanon is surrounded by many countries which are Syria, Israel, Cyprus, Turkey, and Jordan.

Between 1943 and 1948, there were tensions between Muslims and Christians that because Christians help the balance of power and Lebanese Muslims had little say in the running of their country. The tensions had been full-grown when the members of a radical Christian group, the phalange attacked and killed a bus full of Palestinians and revenge killings followed. This resulted fighting between radical and Muslims intensified. Progressively, Muslims group retreated into the western half of the city whilst Christians occupied East Beirut. In 1982, the Israel army occupies Beirut. A peace deal was reached in 1989. In this conflict there was a lot of human and economics looses. For human, between 150000 – 200000 people died during the civil war. Another 300000 were injured. Also, early a quarter of the population left the country, and for years Beirut economy was paralyzed. After years of civil war Beirut recovered and there are four sign of social and economics recovery in Beirut which are tourism is revived, buildings are bring back, people come back to Beirut and Beirut clock tower has been returned to its right full place. But there are still some problems in the country which are some people who are Lebanese, do not have the Lebanese citizen rights.

Now, I think there are no problems between Lebanese Christians and Muslims, but they have tow important issues that are Lebanon now is without ruler, and there is a problem between them and Israel.

Obaid is an Emirati boy who saw the sun shine on August 8, 1988, In Abu Dhabi. His parent did their best to raise him in a good environment and provide him a good life and education. This is a small background about me and I will talk more in detail in the next paragraphs.

My childhood was full of adventure but I was a very respectable boy. Before entering the school, my father and mother was caried about me a lot and they did not let me to mix with other children. Then, when I went to school when I was 6 years old, I had difficulty to talk and play with other children. Day by day I got used to how to play with them and I like to have fun with other children. Then I started to learn and know many things.

When I was a teenager, I had many beautiful friends. I liked to sit, talk and play with them. We traveled many places together. We went to Hafit Mountain and climbed it together. It was a nice adventure for me although we got tired. Also, we went to the desert and stayed for three days. I learned many things from these two trips, to the mountain and desert, like to be patient and strong. My father encouraged me to go on this trips like this instead of doing something bad, because he believes that teenagers have power and they have to consume this power in a good things.

Now, I’m very busy with my college, and I spent my summer holiday in taking courses in English to get IELTS. In the college we have to work hard and the college is different than our high school. It is more fun and interesting because we study in the field which we like.

I like to try the new things especially the things that give me more knowledge and experience. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies. The first country that I traveled without my family is Saudi. I traveled with my friends and it was very wonderful trip which made me independent . Also, I traveled to Oman, Yemen and Qatar.

In my free time, I like to go with my friends and see movies at the cinema. I like watching action films and I like the way that the actors fight. Also, I like watching scary movies and I like to see my friends when they see these movies because their faces make me laugh.

One of my favorite hobbies is doing exercise. Once a week I go to the club and do some exercise to make my muscles strong. I know many people from different cultures from the club. Besides doing exercise I like to swim in the pool at the club.

If I had the chance, I like to go bowling and play football with my brothers and my friends. I like these two because I like to challenge my friends.

As I said in my previous paragraphs, I like to go to the desert and climb mountains. I like skiing in the desert and it is very amazing. I like to camp there with my friend. Climbing mountains is not as camping in the desert. I like camping more that climbing the mountains.
2007, was a sad year for me. Seven of my family passed away. All of them were old people and we learn a lot from them too much. I miss them too much but their advice in my mind and I will not forget them. One of them, who passed away, is my uncle who I learned from him a lot. He was like my father and he was kind and friendly with all people. I was very sad when he passed away and I can not forget what he was saying, that “Even If you have nothing, you can get anything, but your attitude should be positive”. I really can not forget any one of them, they all in my mind.

After a short summary about my life, I hope you know more about me. In the future I hope to be a good man who contributes in building this nice country. I hope that all my dreams become true in the future and I will keep working hard to satisfy my dreams. I want to be a good father like my father and a good and effective employee in my work.
Diamonds are the most expensive stones in the world. People specially women like this stone because it is very beautiful stones. From diamond people make jewelry, and watches and many things.

DeBeers Cosolidated is the biggest diamond mining company in the world. They mine most of their diamonds from South Africa. They control 80% of the world’s rough diamonds trade. In the early 20th century, the company used to restrict the amount of the diamond on the market to keep the price of the diamonds high. Antwerp city has been a diamond center for 600 years. Indian people are associated with the diamond trade in this city. There are 1500 polishers and cutters are left in the city today and 80 percent of the world’s rough diamonds pass through the city, and 90 percent of the world’s rough diamonds are cut and polished in India. The rough diamonds come from Belgium and Tel Avir. The Indian workers get paid for each cut and polished gem. One city in the UAE which is Dubai city has a growing reputation as a diamond hub. Nearly 81 billion the business is worth there. The most people who buy diamonds are pop stars specially the niggers.

To conclude, diamonds is very expensive stones and people like it more than the gold. The rich people are the most people who buy diamonds because it is costly and poor people can not buy it.
